Job Description:
- The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will be delivering therapy sessions, recording the notes of each visit, and following up with their patients.
- The COTA will be empowered to build their schedule with a supervising OT and maintain it consistently.
- The COTA will be given the tools (software/programs) to facilitate the secretarial needs of their schedule (i.e., confirming appointments), and will be expected to have computer and smartphone literacy for this reason.
- Some traveling can be expected, as we also offer services not only at our offices but at daycare centers and schools in the surrounding area.
- The COTA will meet with their supervising OT at least once a month and work on therapy strategies.
Education/Certificates:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an ACOTE-accredited program, or a related degree with relevant coursework.
- Active COTA license issued by the Florida Department of Health.
Note: Candidates without a valid Florida COTA license or no related courses on their resume will not be considered.
Skills:
- English speaking.
- Bilingual (English, Spanish).
- Computer literacy.
- Smartphone literacy.
Required Work Experience:
- At least 1 year of working with children.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT interventions proficiently and with fidelity to the treatment plan.
- Engage in patient-centered care.
- Maintain a consistent roster of patients.
- Organize your schedule.
- Use the software and programs provided.
- Work with the patient's parents/guardians.
